Frequently Asked Questions
What do I need to know about scheduling appointments?
Our office attempts to schedule appointments at your convenience and when time is available. We see children 5 & younger in the morning, when they are fresh and ready to work with us.
Since appointment times are reserved exclusively for each patient, we ask that you notify our office 48 business hours in advance of your scheduled appointment time if you are unable to keep appointment. We realize that unexpected things can happen, but we ask for your assistance in this regard.
Do I stay with my child during the visit?
We ask that you allow your child to accompany our staff through their dental experience. We are highly experienced in helping children overcome anxiety. The separation anxiety is the hardest part, but that soon diminishes and the children will actually enjoy their dental appointment. You will be brought back to see your child during the exam or after the exam is finished to meet and talk with Dr. Shea.
What about finances or our payment & insurance policies?
We will bill insurance. We collect our estimated portion at the time of service. We offer Citi Card for interest free financing options. We also accept cash, check, Visa and Discover.

When should I start scheduling for my child?
We routinely see children for their first routine dental health visit at age 3 unless there is a specific concern. A specific concern would include cracked teeth, discolored teeth, after a trauma and nursing bottle syndrome.
